The benefits of Electronic Sounders

Ensuring safety in the workplace demands the use of different tools and devices. One very effective device is the electronic sounder, which is ideal for various applications, including factories and the manufacturing industry. It produces loud sounds to catch people’s attention when an emergency happens within the area. The device is closely similar to sirens, horns, and other audible alarms in responding as a warning.

What is an Electronic Sounder?

An electronic sounder is an audible warning device in place of visual beacons. It is best applied in noisy environments to provide caution effectively. This type of sounder is very versatile, thus sometimes more effective than a visual warning.

Each one is made up of durable housing materials, such as polycarbonate and plastic. They can be mounted in both outdoor and indoor applications.

Combined units are also available with clear or coloured LEDs for maximum usage. The sounder also features a single or multi-tone application. When combined, the device is known as a sounder beacon.

How Electronic Sounders Work?

Beacon and sounder devices can be found almost anywhere, as their uses also evolve in different applications.

Traffic Signalling

Warehouses can require more status signals to ensure protection in the workplace and to people surrounding the area. Site traffic is completed by a sounder to notify every one of the faults and other dangers.

Aviation Warning

To warn an aeroplane of tall buildings, the first solution could be a warning light. It makes obstacles more visible even from a distance. Adding a sounder is a wise decision to warn aircraft about possible hazards.

Safekeeping

Having a warning device in the surrounding area increases safety. Therefore, placing a beacon or sounder outside the building is much better to easily alert the entire workplace.

Marine Warning

As said earlier, the electronic sounder is appropriate for many applications. Seafarers often depend on warning signals while travelling by water. A sounder helps to enhance their safety when in the ocean.

Evacuation Purposes

Evacuation areas need to be secured at all times. Electronic sounders work manually and automatically to deliver a warning signal. Thus, perfect for such an area protecting many people.

Recommended Products

Here is a summary of some of products available:

IAS-C Series

Series C is a multi-tone electronic sounder with 64 tone combinations and a maximum output of 114 decibels. It has an internal volume control to achieve better sounds yet enough to keep the area warned.

It has a 2-wire connection for alternate tone selection. You may choose between two housing colours, such as white and red. The base is out of standard ABS material, with a horn situated in the top of the unit.

Series C is mounted via BESA box, on either side or base entry.

IAS-E Series

Series E is IP65 rated with 64 tone combinations producing 114 decibels maximum output. It has almost the same features as the Series C, and is slightly large and more robust.

Another feature is the availability of white and black horns for added security. Its base is coloured white and is made of ABS material. The device is also available with a red horn.

It is also mounted through the BESA box. Do not mount the horns upwards as this can affect the ingress protection.

IAS-T Series

Series T is compatible with three full series, including Series T, U, and V. This is fully customized with internal volume control.

Same as the previous models, Series T has 64 tone combinations with a maximum output of 114 decibels. It has a 2-wire connection for alternate tone selections.

It is built with a black polycarbonate base and red horn. White and black horns are optional. Like the Series E, the horns must not be mounted upwards for better operation.

Final Thoughts

Electronic sounders are a great addition to every industrial property aiming for safety and protection against any risky or hazardous situations. Factories and noisy environments benefit hugely from these devices.
